Next week the Council is holding two Committee Meetings:

Events Management Company sought

Stanley Town Council has decided to engage a partner company to deliver its programme of community events over the next three years. We are inviting applications from experienced and highly reputable events management businesses to will provide a high quality service for a number of outdoor events throughout the years 2018, 2019 and 2020.

West Stanley Pit Disaster Remembrance 16th Feb 2018

Stanley Town Council will be marking the 109th Anniversary of one of the darkest days in the town’s history where 168 men and boys lost their lives underground next Friday from 3.30pm at the Memorial outside NDA. All residents are invited to join us. This year the GMB are bringing the West Stanley colliery banner to the event and Craghead band will also be in attendance.

Stanley Christmas Market, Funfair and Lights Switch on

This year’s Christmas market will be held on Saturday 2nd December from 10am on Stanley Front Street.  Building on last year’s successful event, the Christmas Market has more stalls and will set up next to the general market and there will be a funfair as well.  The main event, the switch on of the Christmas tree, will happen at around 4.30, with entertainment from the cast of the Civic Hall panto, Snow White. Save the date!
