Notice of Conclusion of Audit

The Council has received notification from the external auditor that the audit of the accounts and finance governance arrangements for the financial year 2016/17 have been audited and no areas of concern identified.

The accounts are available for inspection by the public at any reasonable time.

All Stanley Town Council Meetings are open to the public. Both this week’s meetings will be held at the Civic Hall, Front Street, Stanley.

2017 Town Council Election Results

The full results of last Thursday’s local elections showing all the votes cast for each candidate are attached below.

Three Councillors were elected unopposed in the Tanfield ward, all the other 17 seats were contested. The final balance of the Council for the next term is Labour 14 Councillors, Derwentside Independents 6 Councillors.

Annual General Meeting 2017

The Annual General Meeting, the first meeting of the newly elected Town Council, will be held next Tuesday, 16th May 2017 at 6.30pm in the Civic Hall.

The most important item of business will be for the Council to elect a new Chairman for the Civic year, followed by the membership of Committees and review of Governance Documents.

All meetings are open to the public.

Full Council Papers Uploaded 18th April 2017

The final Full Council meeting of the current Council will be held next Tuesday at 6.30 pm at the Civic Hall. Business for discussion includes: Events, Heritage Funding, Civic Hall theatre improvements, Relocation of the Louisa Morrison Memorial from St Aidan’s Church, Council Offices update, New Member Training after the election.

The public are welcome and encouraged to attend. The meeting will be streamed live on Facebook.
